Meals On Wheels For Western New York Delivering Food And Friendship Since 1969
Volunteer opportunities

Individual Drivers & Servers
Interested in delivering food & friendship to your homebound neighbors?  Volunteers needed Monday through Friday  at various locations throughout WNY, including the city of Buffalo. A meal delivery route takes about one hour to complete during the lunch hour.  Volunteering is a great opportunity for retirees, students looking to fulfill service hours, shift workers and anyone looking to make a difference. Volunteers can work as little or much as they like - working every day, once a week or even just signing up for our substitute list.  Contact Jennifer McMorrow at 822-2002, ext. 21 or by e-mail at JMcMorrow@mealsonwheelswny.org; alternately complete our volunteer form and someone will contact you.

Group Volunteering: "Adopt-A-Route" Program
Our Adopt-A-Route program was developed to expand our volunteer base by tailoring the volunteer committment to fit the needs of volunteers in the workplace.  Eight or more employees from an area employer agree to participate in meal delivery (with the employer's blessing), with each employee delivering meals approximately one time a month.  Adopt-A-Route is an easy and affordable way for employers and employees to be able to give back to the community.

Special Events Assistant

The agency is looking to fill several volunteer positions for Special Events Assistants. Volunteers needed to assist with special events/meetings held at the Meals on Wheels Community Learning Center. This is an on-call position involving indoor and outdoor activities. Contact Lisa Woodring at 822-2002, ext. 27 or by e-mail at lwoodring@mealsonwheelswny.org for more information.
